Place of Sanctuary Wedding

P u´uhonua O Honaunau National Historical Park, also known as the Place of Sanctuary or Refuge, is located about 15 miles South of Kailua Kona, on the Big Island of Hawaii. This beautiful beachfront park is filled with ancient heiaus and menacing wooden idols and is one of Hawaii´s most sacred spots. Weddings arranged here may take place at any time of the day.

You are chauffeured in a limousine from your hotel to the Place of Sanctuary Park, and after the ceremony you may take a leisurely island drive back to your hotel or restaurant. Your limousine will be available to you for four hours total. (Chauffeur gratuity is included.)

Our ministers are non denominational and marry all faiths. Our favorite minister, Rev. Dard Aller, performs your ceremony. The authentic and very touching ceremony is performed in both Hawaiian and English. If you wish, we can put you in touch with him prior to your ceremony.

Your flowers are the traditional Hawaiian wedding flowers. Maile leaf lei wrapped with fragrant tuberose flowers for the groom, and a three strand Pikake lei, tuberose lei, or woven white ginger lei and beautiful deluxe cascading bridal bouquet for the bride. If you wish we will substitute other flower leis you prefer which match your color scheme. You may also order a variety of bridesmaid´s bouquets, nosegays, corsages, hair flowers, Haku head leis or boutonnieres at an additional cost. Just let us know what your needs are and we´ll be happy to arrange it for you.

Your wedding photography includes pre-ceremony, ceremony, formal and candid shots after the ceremony. Your photography package includes 28 images on a CD.

The bride and groom´s non-alcoholic champagne toast takes place following the ceremony. If you have guests you may want to order additional beverages and glasses for them. * From Waikoloa or Kailua Kona Hotels
